Miguel

Because I'm a horrible procrastinator, I've been drawing this guy instead of working on my Christmas requests, my Pride and Prejudice comic, my Finanada comic, my Hetalia comic, or my stock for the anime convention. I suck! XD But I promise, I'll get right back to work.

I mostly colored this because I wanted to decide on Miguel's colors once and for all.

I don't really plan on doing anything with this character other than idly drawing him, but I still really like his story, so I'm going it tell it to you.

This is Miguel Delgado, 18 years old, and his mother, and even though she doesn't really look it, his mom is probably the most mentally unstable character I have ever created without planning to from the start. When he was five years old, Miguel's father, also an extremely large man, died (in a way which I haven't really figured out yet). After her husband's death, Miguel's mother was unable to deal with her grief. She began to focus all of her attention and love onto her son. Miguel wasn't always that big, but after his dad died, he nearly doubled in size in just a year under his overly doting mother. Although her intentions are good, she is overprotective to the extreme. She has an on overwhelming need for someone she can feel like she's protecting, and she has projected that need onto Miguel, keeping him in the house as much as she can, home schooling him, and constantly hovering over him, keeping food nearby at all times. She is seems to think that no matter how much she feeds him, that he's not eating enough (probably still in the habit of keeping up with her late husband's incredible appetite), and often pushes him to the point where he's so full that it hurts him. But Miguel never complains or tries to fight it. He's long since resigned himself to growing steadily fatter at his mother's hands. He's rather bashful, with a big heart, and he loves his mother very much. He doesn't let on how much he's being smothered by her and in actuality , protects his mother much more than she protects him. Even as a child, he knew that his mother needed someone to take care of, and that if she couldn't, her world would fall apart. So he took up the role of helplessness, and quietly accepts her over bearing care and does his best to be a good son.
